NEA Briefs
Introduction
In this post I am going to select my brief for the NEA and be coming up with ideas as to what I plan to do and giving ideas for later development for both required products. Overall, my plan is to present my ideas clearly in mind maps for later reference and ease of use.
My choice of NEA
Ultimately, I have decided to choose the magazine brief as I feel that it will allow me to express analytical skills and present a still image that I am more confident in editing compared to a video clip. I prefer still image as well, as annotations and written words are where my confidence lies compared to videography. I also find enjoyment from photography and feel that I would be able to use vital technical skills like lighting and camera angles proficiently and with confidence. Whilst making my product and the website to match, I feel like my picture editing skills will be developed - my specific aim to develop lighting skills, in addition to website making skills. It will also enhance my understanding of audiences and how specific codes adhere to conventions of differing audiences. The website equally will allow me to express my ideas succinctly using convergence.

Conclusion
Overarchingly, I intend to create a magazine that's simple in design and colour with light accents with a main focus on the model, create a focus on them and the message they connote. My initial idea is to tackle themes are are relatable to upmarket/middle class audiences (such as work place) while incorporating area for improvement, in which the 'socially aware' aspect will come into place, wherein it will appeal to this aspect of them, embracing themes such as sexism and racism. There will be a focus of sophistication in the layout, of which will extend to the magazine to create a house style. This sense of sophistication will be created by clean fonts and colours (like black, white and grey) as well as befitting images of similar colour schemes. An interview would befit such as it would explicitly show the intended meaning and will create a connection between the audience through direct address, making them feel involved and empowered.
