Main Task

Image
Introduction In this post I will be detailing what I would've done differently for my main products if it weren't for the COVID-19 pandemic making it so I couldn't use proper photographs for my final pieces.  Magazine Cover 1 - Women at Work In this cover I used a prototype image I took as practice to gain ideas for the final product I wanted to make. The clothing used was the same as it would've been- semi-formal business attire one would find for a businesswoman. I would've, however, used more a mid-long shot rather than a long shot to create more of a difference between that and the image used for the contents page. It would also be more personal, alluding to the interview of a personal nature, as it would be closer, whilst still leaving room for anchorage texts, the barcode and other text used. The colour scheme would have stayed the same as I feel the orange compliments the coat and presents the balance between professional and fun Dennis Publishing strives f...

Online Cross-Media Product: Website

Image
In this post, I will be highlighting what I would've done differently for my website if COVID hadn't prohibited my ability to add certain content.  https://campdaniel4444.wixsite.com/mysite-2 Images The images on the slideshow on the home page would have been original images rather than blank colours, similar to the one's below I used as reference points. An over the shoulder shot used for the 'Woman at Work' (Image 1) and high key lighting to make the character seem approachable and likeable whilst also respected, lighting having connotations of empowerment. The setting would be similar too, professional but with a more subtle, lighter brown colours as to fit the aesthetic of the magazine more. Similarly, the slide for 'Politics' (Image 2) would be a close-up with the model looking away, to give a sense of dismissal of the audience and the power that signifies, representing his position of strength. The similar setting of a council chamber (or what would lo...

NEA Planning Part 6 - Schedule

Image
Plenary Scheduling is important as it enables me to fit the coursework around the schedule of my other subjects and allows me to be flexible with other people who will be involved (such as models). It means my work can be structured so that I won't feel rushed to finish it, and staying ahead is a valuable asset in order to keep the quality of work to a good standard.  One activity I may struggle with is creating a logo for the magazine, as it needs to take in a number of factors involving fitting the aesthetic of the magazine whilst still standing out to highlight the institution who made the magazine as well as being catchy and recognisable. I may also struggle with editing the pictures of my magazine, as photo editing isn't a skill I've developed yet, but intend to with this task. By increasing my editing skills, making a logo and the front covers will become easier. Another task I may struggle with in the layout of the website, ensuring to make it easy to use and i...

NEA Planning Part 3 - Product Profile

Image
Introduction In this task I plan on highlighting the importance of sketching and planning by practicing and developing my style of photography and undertaking practical, creative tasks in order to start my magazine cover to create a style and sense of aesthetic.  Main Task Prototype images Plenary This step really allowed me to narrow down the approach to take when deciding how to approach my style and how to go about taking the pictures for a magazine. It helped me decide on adjusting aspects such as lighting and props (along with various other aspects of mis-en-scene such as clothing and background) to enable for a more genuine and professional experience. Peer feedback ultimately enabled me to concentrate on aspects of my work that I want to show in ways which present my ideas fully with more details. It helped my focus on aspects such as media language and semiotics to give a more thorough idea as to, for example, I plan to incorporate background to give of an impression...
